CREATING A BRAND

spaces & places

Spaces and Places serves to educate, entertain and ultimately connect people to the best experiences in London and beyond. The insiders guide to hidden gems. For the eager explorers, foodies, art lovers and culture enthusiasts.

The brand is a combination of my own voice and creative eye. I enjoy using the platform to also promote creators from ethnic minority backgrounds.

This page has become a marketing platform in itself, as a way for brands, companies, organisations to tap into a growing audience.

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

SOUNDS AND SOUL

Tapping into intense emotional connection was the key driver for Sofar Sounds ticket sales. Urging the consumer to desire experiencing intimate moment shared here.

I used intentional copy to summarise the experience in a concise way to immediately capture the target audiences attention.

Careful selection of the song snippet and video panning to reveal the audience work together to build a picture of the atmosphere and what is on offer.

This video reached a global audience generating international interest on both the artist and Sofar company

ITALIAN DREAM

The story behind the creative direction was escapism in the city, to transport the viewer to Italy.

To enable this, the key elements I chose to highlight to consumers was the glamorous interior and the delicious Italian menu.

The whimsical atmosphere is created in the editing style, slow motion stills of the Juliet balcony and saturation of the orange and yellow warm tones.

The song choice compliments the dreamy tone of voice and imagery. The positive engagement in the comments clearly indicate the multiple bookings made as a result.

CHANGING HOSTEL PERCEPTIONS

Hotels in Europe don’t have a reputation for being as high quality as their global counterparts. After visiting this cutting edge Hostel in Lisbon, that blurred the boundary between fancy hotel and hostel, I identified that this is an accommodation that could change the perception of hostel stays in Europe.

With an intentional crafted voice over, I highlighted the incredible amenities such as the roof terrace that this Hostel offered. Along with the location, service, safety and atmosphere which are key factors when a consumer selects a place to stay.

This video went viral with positive engagement via the earned media in the comments. Many confirmations of my audience valuing the insight and recommendation and communicating that they have made a booking. The hostel is now sold out for the summer season ahead.

TRAVEL MARKETING CONTENT

Shot, colour graded and produced by me.

Taking the viewer on a journey through Sintra to convey the mythical, fairy-tale like town.

The theme of symmetry runs throughout the short film with objects positioned centrally or evenly within the frame.

STUDIO 180

Creative direction for this short form video was inspired by the exhibit which played on light and sound. I wanted to take this is a step further and incorporate dance movement to bring it to life.

I experimented with light from the installations to create shadows and silhouettes in order to enhance the contrast between the two elements.

The visuals highlight the various art installations in the exhibit while the slow-motion clips of the dancer figure anchor the video together.

LONELY OR ALONE?

This short film was inspired by the David Hockney exhibition as well as the overlayed sound by a poet. I wanted to evoke contemplation from the watcher and align the visuals with the spoken words.

The solitary shots contrast the mass of people and create a more defined difference between the two.

I used centralised, silhouette art direction to play on the idea of loneliness and mental disconnect.
